Can't Navigate to videos in sub-folder to create new project

I can't navigate to the folder on my hard drive to create a new project.  First of all, the navigation pain only shows icons, not details, so you can't sort by upload date, etc.  Second, navigation to subfolders, which is where my videos are, is very limited.  When you click on a folder, Premiere Rush only displays videos / pictures within that folder, and not subfolders.

The navigation pains to get to your files are so basic and rudimentary.  It's hard to believe that something like that could even exist in this day and age.
