Cannot Import media

Question

I just installed Rush and I am unable to import any kind of media. I do not have the add media button and I cannot access files on my desktop or HD. Everything is essentially "greyed out."

Does anyone have any trouble shooting suggestions? This is my first time using this program and I cannot even begin.

I've attached a picture of what it looks like when I select new project.

Do you have a live "+" sign on the top left of your screen or is that
grayed out as well?
