Question

Does Rush make a separate copy of a video in the app when I import it?

I'm using Rush on my iPad and storage space is at a premium. I'm wondering if it's ok to delete a video on my device after importing it. I tested it out and that seems to be the case but I'd appreciate actual confirmation. Thank you.

Hey there, @veesix,

Thanks for writing in with your question. When you wrote this post, your files synced to the Creative Cloud. Yes, a new proxy video file was created in the Creative Cloud.

As of Feb. 1, files will no longer sync. https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-rush/kb/creative-cloud-files-end-of-life-for-premiere-rush.html.If you delete a file now, it's permanently deleted.

The advice moving forward is to leave the source footage on your iPad until after you export. You may also want to back up this media to a separate hard drive afterward. I hope the advice helps. Good luck with your projects.

Thanks,
Kevin
