Error when uploading iPhone 16 videos to Adobe Rush

Hello is there a solution to this problem that I have seen many others are facing?

I get an error when trying to upload regular (non cinematic) videos to Adobe Rush from my iphone 16 pro. This is extremely frustrating because this is my main way of editing videos for my buisiness. I pay for Adobe Rush pro and it no longer works for me. Please fix this ASAP.

Error message: Usupported media type. 1 of 1 media coule not be imported.

I shouldn't have to run my videos through some encoder in order to upload them to Adobe Rush Pro........

Correct answer Kevin-Monahan

Try this: On your iPhone go to  Settings and disable Spatial Audio. Then your iPhone will work with Rush. Let me know what happens.

Edited for content. Spatial audio is the culprit, not HDR.

Thanks,
Kevin

Adobe is bleeding out with the introduction of AI to all design applications . And obviously their priorities are not their legacy apps. Its okay, chase that bunny and neglect your current customers. Look forward to the death of this garbage company. The meat will taste much better off them bones.

BTW Kevin's answer below doesn't work for iphone 16.

Responding to my own comment to apologize for my tone. Was upset to find that the mobile video editing software Ive used for years does not work with the default iphone 16 codecs when I upgraded my phone. Doesn't excuse me being an ass. Apologies Kevin.

The Violet beta app does work as a replacement.

Hi there

HDR has already been disabled and it still doesn't work.

Can you provide a sample I can send to the team?

Mine is the same as well even though you turn off the HDR. I am struggling to edit videos lately when I had this new Iphone 16 pro max. Can someone fix this please.

HI @holly_9861,

Thanks for the note. Can you show me a screenshot of your camera settings on the iPhone? Are you shooting HEVC or H.264? Is there an option for H.264? Sorry, I don't have access to the current device. Are you having trouble editing the video transferred to your desktop computer or directly on your iOS device?

Other than transcoding the files, a current workaround for editing directly on your iOS device is to use Project Violet by Adobe Labs. It should support Apple's latest codecs.

The team knows about the issue. I apologize for the frustration.

Thanks,
Kevin

FYI, this is still an issue. I understand that you need to switch to stereo audio. However, I have footage, that cannot be shot again, that i shot with Spatial Audio, that Rush is not able to import.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
