How to import from connected GoPro camera card?

I have connected my GoPro's camera card to my iPad via an SD card reader. In Premiere Rush I tap Files on the left side, then Import from Files at the top, then I can navigate to the card.

1. I tap a media file, nothing seems to happen, then a few to several seconds later the Files browser disappears and the file is now in the import tray.

2. I cannot select multiple files. It seems I have to repeat the process for each file I want to import.

Am I doing it right? Is there a better way, a way that lets me import many files at once?
