I have muy photo and video files on a NAS. How do I import video from the network disk in Premiere Rush?

You will have to mount (access) the drive first via the Operating System.

Probably the easiest fix for this is to:

1.  In Windows Explorer, click on the Synology, and expose the share folder(s) in the main panel.

2. Right click on the share/folder icon inside the main Windows Explorer window, and select "Map Network Dive"

3.  A dialog will open.  You can then select how you want it mounted.  I suggest you leave all the setting alone (unless you know what you are doing) and turn on "Reconnect at sign-in" so that the NAS is automatically connected when you log into the computer.

4.  Close and relaunch Rush if necessary.

You should now see a drive pointing to your Synology under a drive letter.

The steps worked (mapping the network drive)!  Thank you both for your help, it's a lot more straight forward for me now.

Kind regards,

Jeremy

What problem are you having, Cody? Do you see the file in your Project panel?

Thanks,
Kevin

Apologies for responding (since you asked Cody directly), but the main issue is when we have our main video files stored on a NAS drive (see first screen shot with my Network Attached Storage circled) isn't available for us to initiate a project within Rush (second screen shot).  To get around this issue, we must move/copy the files to some other location, which is a hassle.

I have this same question, although not too confident in getting a response since this was first posted 11 months ago...
