installed Rushs Apple preference got messed up will not allow me to change them

I messed up Apple preferences when I installed rush.  uninstalled Rush reinstalled Rush when I open it I am asked to change preferences. I go to preferences and try to change but can't make change, no matter what i do.  HELP
