iPhone usb-C connected mic no sound on voiceover

I have the IPhone 15

and the Røde wireless go 2.
I can't do voiceovers in adobe rush app.

Out of the box I could not even record using the iPhone camera and get the sound, but after updating the iPhone it worked (same thing with the app voice memos).

but in adobe rush when pressing to do a VO it counts down and freezes. Pressing stop and nothing is recorded anyway. No red line starts when the countdown finishes, just freezes.

rush is updated.

restarted the iphone.

other lavielier mic with usb c cable works fine, but I would rather have the same mic...

has anyone fixed this or is it a rush problem?

Correct answer teo_5332

Yeah, it could be related to the connector. I wish you luck. Please return with any updates.

Thanks,
Kevin

Thx for the long reply, covering a lot of possibilities.

In the end i dont know if there was a software update or if i tried another  USB -C cable.
Anyhow, i did try another USB-C cable (if i remember right), and then it worked.

kind regards Teo.

Hi @teo_5332,

I have heard of issues from third party mics. I apologize for that. It is odd that your other mic worked, though. I hope others will chime in with their findings. When I get a moment, I can try with my Rode shotgun. I just need to locate the adapter. Sorry for the hassle.

Thanks,
Kevin

Thx!

yes since the other usbc mic (noname brand) works if feels like either some setting could fix it, or maybe some workaround like connecting the wireless go 2 directly with 3,5mm cable with one end being usbc into the phone.

I have one such a cable but I don't know if it is advanced enough, maybe just able to send sound to earphones, and no "in"sound in the cable, it did not work to record sound in rush and neither the iphone camera.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
