No audio when editing on iPad

I'm trying to edit in Premiere Rush on my iPad - a Generation 10 with iPad OS 17.6.1

 

I imported several videos shot on my iPhone 15. On the Timeline, audio is not muted. I have volume set to the highest setting. The green meter on the right shows that I have audio. If I render a movie, I can hear the audio loud and clear on the same iPad.

 

Any advice?

    Solution: I did a hard shut down of the iPad and turned it back on, and the audio played.
