Optimizing Windows 10 for Rush

I have been playing with Rush on my Windows 10 PC but have found the eidting process frustrating, only because the playback during editing is anything but smooth.  Current PC is a Dell XPS8500 with 16GB RAM.

I'd like to know if there's a way to tell Rush to use my SSD drive for its cache, temp files, whatever, but I see no place in the gui to make these settings choices.  Is there anything I can do short of replacing this PC with something much higher end?
