Premiere Rush crashes on startup

We have been trying to troubleshoot an issue with Premiere Rush on a iMac where it crashes shortly after launch.

 

Once main window loads, the time we have on the app ranges anywhere between 5-10 seconds before the app crashes. Sometimes we can click on a photo, but sometimes the photos don't even load.

 

The Adobe app states that itself is up to date as well as Premiere Rush. We tried to roll it back to the previous version, but the issue persisted.
