but *don't disregard*
That's good/important information for case use!
Dearest Ko,
What a wild journey I've been on, through the darkest jungles of Adobe Premier Rush. I have lived to tell the tale and the tale is as follows.
1. Complex video (File 1), with all sources stored on iPhone (mostly .mov) began crashing when I added some large title screens and auto-ducking. (No error message, app just thinks for 3 seconds and then closes without warning.) I could no longer open File 1 on mobile. It was unsynced (mistake #1) so I turned syncing on to begin troubleshooting. (Cue forum post #1)
2. I was able to open File 1 on desktop app, with no actual source video synced. I was able to delete the suspected title screens and auto-ducking.
3. I was able to refresh and open file in mobile app again. I began editing, instead of waiting for the file to sync to cloud (mistake #2) and broke the file again. This time, I couldn't "undo" it via the desktop app. (cue forum post #2)
4. I thought, maybe I could create a 2nd project file (File 2), upload all source video, sync it to cloud, then go in to File 1 and manually link one source, and have the software automatically link the rest of the sources from synced File 2. I manually linked one file and learned: no, Rush does not work like this. (I think it was Premier *and* After Effects that are smart like this, in my memory).
6. I opened File 2 on mobile app again. It loaded fine. Then tried opening File 1... and it loaded without crashing! Miracle! (Cue forum post #3) Now, I had learned my lesson: I patiently waited for the source footage to sync to cloud. But the mobile app kept crashing mid-sync (lots of footage). Every time it crashed, I had close Rush, usually turn cell phone off and on, re-open Rush, open File 2 first, and only then was the mobile app able to open File 1 without crashing. As if File 2 was warming up or getting some of the processing 'out of the way' for the complexity of File 1 to load.
7. File 1 finally synced. Which was good news, because I then tried one more edit (adding a basic solid background title screen) and the File 1 officially broke completely - I got an error message 'Adobe unable to open this project' whenever I tried File 1 again, even after restarting phone and opening File 2 first.
8. The battle moved to desktop app. I was able to add in some title screens... and then the desktop app started crashing. It crashed a few times, turning my laptop screen black (I think my processor got overwhelmed just like my phone got overwhelmed, digital hoarder here) with a cursor but no response except to force computer shutdown. I had to force shutdown a couple times. Thankfully the edits all saved every time and I was able to continue working the file. I was able to add multiple audio tracks and edit with no crashes. So I think the titles were simply the straw that kept breaking all my camel's backs.
9. One final crash during rendering, but I think that's because I was simultaneously asking my computer to open this forum and type this response as well... this forum crashed with it. Lol.
10. Final successful render. Holy crap. We made it, Adobe Premier Rush, we made it. *kisses the earth* *deletes all source footage* *deletes project file* *pops champagne*
And she lived happily ever after.
