Replace one element by another in the timeline.

Hello ! I am a new user. I would like to know how we can easily replace one element by another in the timeline while keeping the effects applied on the previous element ?

Thank you for your answer. I have tried to follow your tips, but it does not work on my computer. Anyway, i have installed Premiere Pro, and replacing clips is very esay to do.

Hold ALT and drag a clip from your Project Window on the clip you want to replace it with.
