Rush Black playback screen problem

Rush was working for me very well for the last few months, but all of a sudden opened it up to do some work and all new projects and old when i click on them show a black screen, even though audio still works and so does the film strip on the bottom. but obviously how do i edit if i cant see what im editing. ive looked at all related posts about this and tried everything updating drivers, making sure sync is enabled, tried the prepare for playback, clear caches, reinstalled, reset prefrences. Im getting pretty bummed out.  Please help, not a clue what to try now.
