Question

Rush video editor is crawling !

For the past couple of months I've noticed that any video in the editor is just CRAWLING.

Most of the time I edit a video, the video portion is choppy and almost always appears to be BEHIND the audio.

I don't know if the software is getting way ahead of my hardware. I've also checked my drive space, and I have 25GB at the moment.

Is anyone experiencing this video lag?

Hi @robertmazzo & @dillingerstudiosmn -

It may help to check your Preferences and try toggling the Video Rendering and Playback settings:

(If you change a selection, be sure to RESTART Rush and make sure that after re-opening Rush and your project, that you give it time to FULLY SYNC before starting to edit again.)  Hope this helps!

Hope this helps! Make sure to press "✔ Correct Answer" on this post if this answers your question. Happy Creating!Anissa • @anissat

Same - just updated components because it was time and hoped that might resolve the issue but it is still horrible.  Projects will barely load - freezes and crashes especially when on the home screen.  Went back a few versions and it resolved but then I couldn't open some projects because they were created after the update.

At this point I honestly DON'T know what to do. I just think that the software is getting to "fat", and hogs a lot of memory. And so my machine just can't keep up. I think rebooting helps for a bit...something I should test again...however annoying that is.

Hey there, can you share your hardware details (OS, RAM, CPU, GPU) so we know what we're working with? What type of video are you editing – what did you use to record it?

Hi there,

I'm on Win 10 with 16MB RAM

I have an Asus i7-7500 @2.7Gz

500GB standard drive

Intel HD graphics 620

Mostly I use my S9 to record videos; sometimes power point with video recording options on each slide. So the output video files are mp4.

thanks,

Bob
