Question

Rush video stuttering in preview AND after render. Windows Media Player playback is normal.

Hi.

I have a simple recorded mp4. After loading it in Rush, the preview playback jumps back and forth. Sound is ok.

After render the video as is, the jumping is still there.

Opening the source with Windows Media Player plays the file as it should be.

I attached an example.

A friend which uses Premiere Pro has the SAME issue with this file. A bug?

Anyone who can assist here?

This is a fairly non-standard video. It is 2560x1080 rather than 1920x1080, which means that the program is not able to match its specs. It also has a frame rate of 26 fps rather than the more more standard 24, 25, 29.97 or even 30 fps. Challenging that it uses a variable frame rate and challenging Hi@L5 codec.

Did this video come from a phone or a camcorder? It's non-standard in almost every way.

You can try running it through a convertor like Handbrake to convert it to a more standard 1920x1080 MP4.  However, because this video's aspect ratio is 2.37 rather than the more standard 1.77, the resultant video will be letterboxed with black bars above and below it at 16:9.
