Rush won’t render project

I'm getting this error when I try to share it:

 

Error compiling movie.

Export Error

Error completing render.

Writing with exporter: H.264

Writing to file: /Users/benjancewicz/Downloads/Windy Sunset over

Pierce Lake_1.mp4

Writing file type: H264

Around timecode: 00:00:01:23

Component: H.264 of type Exporter

Selector: 9

Error code: 3

Hi @Zerflin,

I read your note. That is an "unknown error," so you need to sleuth the situation out with the process of elimination.

 

  1. Inspect the timeline at 1:23 and remove any effect that is placed there.
  2. If there are no effects there, see if replacing the clip with another shot might work.
  3. You can also try using a third party app like Handbrake or Shutter Encoder to create a copy of the file to H.264 or ProRes. Some files can get corrupt and require this "transcoding" process. Edit the copy of the video clip back into the timeline.
  4. Relaunch the app pressing Alt/Option key and reset the preferences.
  5. In Settings/Preferences, delete the media cache. Relaunch Rush.
