Simple edits? save clip? remove the other stuff?

Just no way to do simple things. Editing videos short from Internet Archive (a contest). Say it's 12 mins history video. I was to just copy 5-6 seconds of that video, then save that short clip to use in my video, and delete the remaining stuff. Why is this simple two steps so hard? How to?

    Hi @drwebx,

    You can do this in Rush. Import the file. Trim it. Export it. You do have to re-encode it, however. If you want to so such things without having to do all this, check out FFMPEG freeware or Shutter Encoder. Open Source stuff can do things like this. Good luck.

      Thanks a bunch Kevin. My 7 editors I tried could not easily and simply do this. I wil try your suggestions. I have to learn to trim, on both sides of selected save clip. And your software my next trial-and-errors step. 🙂 take care...
