Trash can is greyed out

Brand-new Rush user, just started a few hours ago. Watched the tutorial videos on the Adobe site, and now I'm just poking around playing with the sample clips to see what all the buttons do.  

 

I added a title, now I want to remove that title, but the trash can is grayed out.  I've selected the title clip I want to delete, even moved the playhead over it, and still the trash can is greyed out.  Obviously I'm missing an important step.  Can anyone help this Rush newbie? Thanks.

Well, geez. I went on to finish the intro tutorial with the blue balloons around the screen, and now my trash can is showing up just fine. Maybe the trash can was just disabled beause of the intro tutorial?

 

All good now.  Phew.
