Variable frame rate frustration

I've recently tried to download a 6 minute vid into Rush only to find that any videos taken with a variable frame rate need to be put through Handbrake before editing. This 6 minute vid took over half an hour! Is anybody aware of a way of speeding this process up or better still suggesting a way that doesn't need Handbrake at all?

I'm using a GoPro 9 Black and Windows 10.

Sorry about the trouble. Could you share your system details (OS, CPU, RAM, GPU)? What issue are you seeing with the variable frame rate?
