Video is choppy and sped up

Whenever i click on any video to work on or bring in a new video into rush, it gets all choppy and sped up for some reason. I know its not my pc because I just played the video in another software and it works perfectly fine. anyone have ideas on what it could be??

    Update: so i just fixed it. for anyone with the same issue, go to preferences under the edit tab and make the audio input is set to no input
