Voiceover Dropouts - intermittent 2-3s blanks

I'm trying to add simple VO tracks to intro's on some gaming clips. So far I've recorded nothing more than 30s long. However, from time to time, I'm getting dropouts in the audio track. My VO is there, I can "see" the audio in the VO clip in the timeline- but I'm getting silence on playback. Any thoughts?

    I have a similar problem. Audio recorded while shooting video is OK, but drops out occasionally after saving at MP4.
