when I change the speed of the video

in my video i have several clips. the video overall is 2 hours. I need to change the speed of each clip. when I click on the clip and change the range speed to 200%, video play back is frozen on the first clip. what is wrong.

can someone walk me through this?

I've watch multiple tutorials and can't figure this.
