How do I pause audio

I'd like an audio clip to pause when the user reaches a certain proximity away from an object. Is there a way to do this?

Hi, i did not pause it but I attached it to movable object. When nesassary it moves into the scene and when I need to silence it down it moves to the outter space. the sound's attribute is set to spatial (not ambient)
