Question

Is Adobe still actively developing Aero?

The current status: Adobe Aero is still in beta version after more than 4 years since its launch. The last minor update was in January 2024, and there are still numerous serious bugs and limitations.

The app possesses immense potential. I have pushed it to its limits, creating large and highly complex AR modules for workplace training and educational purposes. However, the numerous bugs and limitations make it exceedingly difficult to utilize the app for enterprise-level applications. It simply lacks the reliability and speed necessary for commercial use.

I remain hopeful that Adobe will not abandon the development of Aero into a stable platform. Perhaps its status as a free app has relegated Aero to the bottom of Adobe’s priority list. By transitioning it to a paid app, Adobe might allocate more resources and attention to Aero.

Hello @Adel29022738uk8z

I totally agree with you . Aero has great potential but the bugs and limitations really hold it back, especially for more complex or commercial use. It's frustrating, especially when you’re trying to create something at an enterprise level. I also hope Adobe continues to develop it and maybe considers a paid version to get the resources it needs for stability and improvements.

Well, the inevitable is happening, and Adobe is shutting down Aero in December. That's really a shame. I only wish they had future plans to create a powerful AR tool to replace Aero, though I'm not optimistic considering what Adobe has become

Hello has Adobe Aero beta been discontinued? I do not see it in the Cloud apps any more?

Best regards

I hope Adobe Aero can expand its capabilities, similar to Meta Spark AR, to include features beyond image target tracking, such as face tracking. This would be great news for a wider range of AR users.

Here’s a polished version of your message:

I have a feeling they might discontinue Aero, just like Meta is doing with Spark AR. It was also a no-show at Adobe Max. That's a shame if true.

I'm always checking for news, and there is basically none.  I understand the money thing - if it works I'd pay.  I am a volunteer working for the Historic Preservation Commission here in town and I see many uses for this at our historic Illinois Central Railroad depot.  C'mon Adobe - I have been a subsrcriber with Illustrator, and this Aero looks promising and something I'd work with -hopefully this

skeleton is given some meat on it's bones.

Yes. They had a major update about a month ago(?).  That said, still in beta overall and there current focus is on AI as opposed to AR. Another update is expected later this summer.

I am currnelty using Reality Composer (apple only!) which we use as a prototyping tool for industrial designers. You can create quite realistic physcial product interactions, and it can be used for user testing. PIty that AERO is not viable as this could be a lot more platform agnostic!

Hi Totally hear you and agree on above.  I'm looking forward to a final non-beta launch too.  They did just have a recent update to the existing beta last month that made the Google geospatial location anchors public.  Based on conversations with a person on the AERO product team, I'm expecting another update this summer. I believe those will still be part of the beta version.  My impression is that incorporating AI into their current and expanding suite of products such as Adobe Firefly, Adobe express, Photoshop and Illustrator has taken higher priority over the last year.  Keep the faith!

Hey, is there an up-to-date bug list of the current stumbling blocks in Adobe Aero? If I only want to create and publish smaller AR scenes analogous to the Artivive app, is there anything against using Aero? I have read that it is possible to give the audience an AR experience without installing an app, so Aero would be a real alternative to Artivive. Thanks for your input, Sandra!

Im not aware of a bug list.  But the main one is some people habe trouble with the links not working sometimes.  Ive never had this issue personally, but there r forum posts about it.
yes aero would be a good alternative.  It generates app clips which provide a web like experience and eliminates the need to download the aero app.
