Plane Tracking and Image Tracking

I see that Aero has both plane tracking and image tracking capabilties. Is there a way to activate them at the same time?  For example, if I hav a poster on a wall, I'd like the poster to trigger the experience, but if the poster is off the camera, I'd like the experience to use plane tracking.

Or if possible activate both plane tracking and image tracking so i could have an AR character walk up to the poster.

Anyone know how to do this? Or have any workarounds?

There is no way to jump between different attachment types in one AR experience. Image anchor requires the image to be onscreen at all times, and plane tracking allows the user to place the object wherever they please.

This is barely considered a workaround, but the only thing even remotely close to doing what you want would be plane tracking, with some kind of instructions either on the poster or in the AR experience on screen (maybe the initial part of the AR is some kind of poster-sized frame or target) then once attached, the animation starts and the target icon disappears. Cumbersome as heck but that's as close as I can fathom. That would allow the user to view the character walking up without having to keep the poster on camera.
