My version if Acrobat is,
2026.001.21771 | 64 bit
License: Acrobat Pro

2 problems:
1: The sidepanel, Bookmarks is allways open. I never use it, and have to close to panel every time I open a pdf file. I want it allwys to be closed on all pdf files. I should be able to turn off the feature in, "Show->Show/Hide->Sidepanels," but no matter what I do, it is allways turned on.
Adobe team! Correct this please.

2: If I open Help->About to se the versionnumber, it turns off if I click on something else.
I want it to be open, untill I decide to close it.
Adobe team! Correct this please.

    Hi Tranquil_Dusk2b81,

Thank you for reaching out, and sharing your feedback.

    1. Bookmarks panel always opens: Acrobat remembers the state of the navigation pane differently depending on the PDF. Many PDFs are created with an Initial View setting that tells Acrobat to open with the Bookmarks panel or another navigation pane visible. As a result, closing the panel in one document doesn’t prevent it from appearing in another document.

You can try the following steps to help manage this:

    • Open the PDF in Acrobat.

    • Close the Bookmarks panel.

    • Then go to Menu > Oreferecnes > Documents.

    • Enable the "Restore last view settings when reopening documents" option in your preferences.

    • Click on OK to save the changes in the preferences window.

    • Relaunch the Acrobat.

    2. About the Acrobat window closing when focus changes: The Help > About Acrobat window is currently designed as an informational dialog rather than a persistent window. In recent Acrobat versions, it automatically closes when focus moves away from it. This is expected behaviour and not a setting that can be changed by the user at this time.

Please feel free to share your suggestions with the product team regarding these topics via the following page: Acrobat Uservoice.

Please don't hesitate to let us know if we can help.

    Thanks,

    Meenakshi
