2 takes to combine files

I combine files all day everyday using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, for past few weeks every attempt takes me to PDF home screen not the Combine files thumbnails. If I close Adobe and retry, on the second attempt the files will be successful. Is this a known issue?  No updates available - currently running 21.001.20145
