Acrobat 2d measuring tools 'snap to point' options not working. This has recently stopped working (Aug 2026). It's not just my version either, it's also stopped working for everyone else I have spoken to who uses this tool.

    Hi @Bubbly_thinker4964,

Thanks for reaching out, and sorry you're running into this too. We don't have a specific timeline to share on this right now, but we'd like to get your case looked into.

Could you please share the following so we can pass it along for further investigation:

    • The current version of Acrobat is installed (Help > About Adobe Acrobat)

    • The OS version you're running

    • A screen recording of the workflow where the snap options aren't working

    • The logs from the affected machine, which you can collect here: https://adobe.ly/4xk82XR

Please share these details, and we'll take it from there.

    Thanks,
    ^BS

I am also encountering the same issue, the Snap feature is just not working despite still showing as present.

I have Right clicked, preferences, toggled various options with the 2D measuring page and still this has not fixed the issue.

I have gone further repairing the installation, and removing the installation. both has not rectified the issue.

    I am using Adobe Acrobat (64-Bit) (26.001.21789)

Fully up to date as far as I can see.

Ive also checked with my other laptop and the same issue is the case, file i have previously measured using the snap tool no longer work - feel like an issue with a recent update ive downloaded.

    Hello @defaultr2nyv80ecb96,

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out. We're sorry for the trouble you had.

Could you please share the version of Acrobat installed? Check for Menu (Windows) | Acrobat (Mac)> Help > About Adobe Acrobat.

Confirm the snap settings themselves. With the Measuring tool active, make sure the Snap Types (Snap to Paths, Endpoints, Midpoints, Intersections) are toggled on, and right-click to confirm you are on "Snap to Page Content" (not "Don't Snap to Page Content"). Also, check Menu > Preferences > Measuring (2D): if "Use Orthographic Lines" is on, it forces measurements to lock horizontal/vertical and can make snapping behave as if it is not working, so try turning Ortho off.

If it still fails, reset and repair. Preferences > Measuring (2D) > restore defaults, restart; then Help > Repair Installation if needed.

If the issue still continues, please share the current version details of Acrobat installed, the OS version, a screen recording of the workflow, and the logs from the affected machine. To collect the logs, please check this article: https://adobe.ly/4qcQsCC

Let us know how it goes, please reach out if you need any assistance.

    Regards,

    Anand Sri.

Thank you very much for the reply,

I am running the latest version (2026.001.21789)

If I turn on snap settings it automatically defaults to ‘Don’t snap to page content’ and If I turn on ‘Snap to page content’ it turns off snap settings.

Interestingly, I do not have the option to ‘restore defults’ under the 2D measuring preferences. I have however tried ‘Repair Installation’ but the problem wasn’t fixed.

The fact that it is a problem not just on my home computer but also the computers in the office suggest it’s not a personal settings issue.

Are the snap settings working for you?

    Hello @defaultr2nyv80ecb96

Thanks for the details. I tried replicating on my Windows machine with the latest build, and it is working.

Can you please share a screen recording of the workflow you shared, the current version of the OS installed, as well as the logs while reproducing the issue, so that we can raise it with the product team for further investigation? To collect the logs, please check this article, ensure all the log options are selected: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-diagnostics.html

    Regards,

    Anand Sri.
