Question

A very boring and repetitive message

How can I stop Acrobat from displaying this annoying, repetitive message every time I open, save as, or optimise a document?

I have good reasons for working with Acrobat in English and documents in French, and I’d really like to avoid this question that keeps cropping up.

Thank you for reporting this. We have two workarounds available depending on how much you'd like to restrict the Translate PDF feature:

Option 1: Dismiss the prompt 3 times
Dismiss the message bar 3 times consecutively and Acrobat will stop displaying it. The Translate PDF feature will remain accessible within the application.

Option 2: Disable via Windows Registry
If you'd prefer to disable the Translate PDF feature entirely, open Registry Editor and navigate to:
    `HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\FeatureLockDown`
Create or set the DWORD value `bDisableTranslatePDF` to 1.

Please note this will disable all Translate PDF workflows across the application.

We are actively tracking this issue for a future update to better support users working across different application and document languages. We apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime.

Some resources suggest unchecking these options in General Preferences:

They also suggest disabling “new Acrobat”.

I have no idea if it works, plus you might have already checked the same sources anyway.

    Thank you.

The answer isn’t in the Preferences, but I don’t actually have this problem on the Mac where I use the standard interface.
However, I have to use the new interface because that’s what my trainees ask me to use, and I don’t want to come across as a novice 😉
