    Thanks for the details, @perfect_connoisseur1351

Please check if there are any pending updates related to the OS, download and install all the mandatory updates of the operating system, and restart the computer.

Try saving a later file (the one that would normally fail) to a brand-new plain folder like C:\Test, not Documents or Desktop. If that saves when Documents/Desktop does not, folder protection is the cause.

Allow Acrobat through it: Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Manage settings > Controlled folder access > Allow an app through Controlled folder access > Add an allowed app > Recently blocked apps > add Acrobat.exe. If you run third-party antivirus, add Acrobat as an exception (or briefly turn off the AV) and retest.

Also, reset the Acrobat’s Preferences, and repair the installation as shared earlier.

Then perform a clean installation if the issue persists. Please download the Acrobat Cleaner tool, remove the installed app, and restart the computer. Then download and install Acrobat.

Please try these steps, and let us know how it goes.

    Regards,

    Anand Sri.

I am on windows 10 on this computor. There are no messages as all, everything appears to be working but it will neither reduce the file or save the file to a floder on the PC. I just found if I completly close out of Adobe the first PDF I open will save, after that it will not do additional files without completly closing out.

    Hello @perfect_connoisseur1351

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out. We're sorry for the trouble you had.

Could you please share more details about the issue? We checked and verified your Adobe ID (email), which you have used to log in to the community platform, and see that you have an active subscription to Acrobat Pro.

Do you get any error message while saving the PDF file? Can you share a screenshot? Are you on a Windows machine or a Mac, and what is the OS version?

Please ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat installed on the machine: 26.002.21869, Planned update, Aug 31, 2026. Check for any pending updates from Menu >Help > Check for updates, install any pending updates, restart the app, and the computer. And try again.

Test Save As with a second PDF

    • Windows: Menu > Save As

    • macOS: File > Save As

    • Save with a new filename and location. Repeat with another PDF to determine whether this affects one file or every file.

    Check for document restrictions

    • Windows: Menu > Document Properties > Security

    • macOS: File > Document Properties > Security

    • Review Document Restrictions Summary. If saving or document changes are restricted, you will need an unrestricted copy or permission from the document owner.

Reset the Acrobat's preferences settings once, and restart the computer. To reset the preferences, please refer to this article: https://adobe.ly/4iMN8fE

Also, if you are on a Windows machine, then repair the installation files of Acrobat: Menu > Help > Repair installation, and restart.

I hope this helps, and please reach out if you experience any issues or need any assistance.

    Regards,

    Anand Sri.
