Question

Accessibility auto tagging has stopped working for large documents

Just like the subject says, I've been using Adobe Acrobat to remediate files that need to go on my company's website. The auto tagging process has been a godsend for some of the larger files we have so I can go through and just fix any errors from the process VS having to manually tag everything. At the end of last week, I started receiving a message stating that auto tagging does not work for files over a certain size (100MB) or over 200 pages. I had never received this before despite handling documents this size several times in the past.

I initially thought this was a new message pertaining specifically to the cloud auto tagging solution, so I unselected the cloud auto tagging, but I am still receiving the error when trying to use local auto tagging. Did a change go into effect that has reduced the efficacy of this important feature or are there additional settings I need to adjust to restore the functionality for large documents? I have an enterprise level account through my organization so there shoudn't be any issues with program access or permissions either.

Hi @Tyler28138923gv8l,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!

This is the designed behavior for Cloud-based Auto-Tagging. For more info, see Enhance document accessibility with cloud-based auto-tagging.

In other scenarios, you can try the local auto-tagging.

If you encounter the same error with the latest version of the application (2024.005.20320), please let me know, and we can take this up with the devs for further investigation.
