Acrobat 2020 fails to install on M1 Mac running Monterey

I'm using our standard Acrobat 2020 installer pkg to install a perpetual license (not Creative Cloud) on an M1 Macbook Pro running Monterey. However, the installation fails at the end with a window just saying it "failed" with no error code.

I tried using the Pro DC installer as well from Adobe's own website but that failed as well with the same message.

Any suggestions on what to try? This machine has never had Acrobat nor Creative Cloud on it so it wouldn't be a conflict from a previous version.

Thank you

I reached out to Adobe support and they suggested trying to install Rosetta and then run the installer. I installed Rosetta and got the same result.

Just chatting with Adobe support and they tried to tell me that you CANNOT run Adobe Acrobat 2020 on an M1 Mac. Unbelievable. Of course you can. But this one machine is giving me an error and I don't know why.

I suppose you are installing the software on a supported system, with a supported configuration?

Yes. I've used that installer for 2020 on dozens of Macs.

I've read that 2020 isn't supported on Ventura, but this Mac is running Monterey.
