Question

Acrobat 2026.002.22031: Ctrl+C does not copy selected text

This is a reproducible Acrobat keyboard-shortcut bug in the current Windows desktop release.

Environment:
- Adobe Acrobat Continuous Release 2026.002.22031, 64-bit
- Windows desktop application

Problem:
1. Open any PDF.
2. Select text with the mouse.
3. Press Ctrl+C.
4. Paste into another application.

Result: Ctrl+C does not place the selected text in the clipboard. Nothing is copied, or the previous clipboard content remains. The same selected text can be copied successfully via the context menu (right-click > Copy) or via Edit > Copy. Ctrl+C works normally in other Windows applications, and other Acrobat shortcuts such as Ctrl+F work. The problem occurs with every PDF and has persisted for a long time.

This is a basic Windows standard function and must work reliably. Users should not have to replace a standard keyboard shortcut with mouse operations for every copied passage. Please stop prioritising weekly feature additions while fundamental functions remain unreliable.

Please investigate and fix the Ctrl+C command in Acrobat 2026.002.22031. A repair installation does not solve the problem. Please also confirm whether this is a known regression and in which release it will be fixed.

    Hello @avid_Wish47b1

I hope you are doing well, and sorry for the trouble you had.

Thanks for reporting this and for providing clear reproduction steps. We understand that Ctrl+C is a fundamental Windows shortcut, so having to use the context menu or Edit > Copy isn't an ideal workaround.

Since the Copy command itself works and Repair has already been tested, please check whether the issue also occurs when Acrobat is run from a new Windows user profile that has full admin rights.

If Ctrl+C remains reproducible there on Acrobat 26.002.22031, additional diagnostic information would be useful for further investigation. Please collect the logs from the affected machine and user profile, and share the log ID along with the current OS version for further investigation. To collect the logs, please refer to this article: Adobe Acrobat Diagnostics.

I hope this helps, and please reach out if you need any assistance.

    Regards,

    Anand Sri.
