Acrobat 24.003.20112 update fails with error code 1642

Question

We are trying to deploy the latest Acrobat update 24.003.20112 using Microsoft Configuration Manager.

About half of our devices the update fails with error code 1642: "The upgrade cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade."

The computers that report this issue seem to have the 24.003.20054 version installed.

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble, and the delayed response.

If you are still looking for a solution, you might want to try deploying the full installer instead of the incremental package.

Let us know if you experience similar issues with the latest version (2024.005.2039x), and we can investigate further.
