Acrobat 26.001.21431 (64-bit) Crashes When Accessing Field Properties in Prepare Form

I am running Adobe Acrobat 64-bit, version 26.001.21431 on Windows, and Acrobat crashes every time I open a PDF, go to Prepare Form, click on a field, and attempt to open Properties to rename it. The program freezes briefly and then closes completely.

I have already tried the following:
- Updated to the latest version (currently showing "No updates available")
- Repaired the installation via Help > Repair Installation
- Uninstalled and reinstalled using the Adobe Cleaner Tool
- Deleted my original PDFs, re-exported them fresh from a PowerPoint file, and tested again -- same crash
- Tested with a PDF created and sent by a coworker on a different machine -- same crash
- Updated security preferences as recommended in various support threads

This happens with every PDF I have tested, including brand-new files I did not create myself, so it does not appear to be a document-specific issue.

I am aware this crash was reported and supposedly resolved in build 25.001.20937, but the issue is clearly persisting into version 26. Has anyone found a working fix on the current build? Is there a known open issue for version 26?

Any help is appreciated.

Hi heatherblock4,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry for the trouble caused.

As mentioned, the application is still crashing after the update. Please try the troubleshooting steps suggested here: https://adobe.ly/4sDh27y.

If that does not help, share the crash logs so we can get them checked. You can use the steps suggested in the following help document: Adobe Acrobat Diagnostics and Collect logs when Acrobat/Reader crashes or freezes.

Let us know if you need any help.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
