Question

Acrobat 26.1 form filling slow on desktop, works fine in Chrome except signing

Templates that previously worked fine are now terribly slow updating fields or entering information.

However if I open same template in Chrome it’s fine except I can’t sign the document.

Running Windows 11

    Hi Bretacious2,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry to hear about your experience.

As the application is working slow, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Repair the application installation: In Acrobat, go to Menu > Help > Repair Installation

    2. In Acrobat, go to Menu > Preferences > Page View > Under Rendering, Uncheck 'Use page Cache' > click OK, reboot the application and check if that works.

    3. Try reinstalling the application using the steps suggested below:

    • Uninstall the application and run the cleaner tool from the following link: Acrobat Cleaner tool.

    • Reboot the machine.

    • Install Adobe Acrobat from the following page: Install Acrobat.

Let us know if you still experience the same issue.

    Thanks,

    Meenakshi

    Hi
I did everything you showed, but still same problem.
If I open in Chrome, it works fine but I can’t sign documents.

    Hi Bretacious2,

Sorry to hear that the suggestion did not help.

Could you please let us know whether the problem occurs with any file or only with specific templates? You can create a test form and try to fill it in Acrobat. It would be helpful if you could share a short video demonstrating the issue and a sample template so we can investigate further.

    Thanks,

    Meenakshi
