Acrobat 6 professional, PDF-complete

I have been using Acrobat 6 professional with win7 for years without any problems. Recently, however, it gives me an error message about incompatibility, but it still runs, except the PDF-complete sign urging me to purchase it. First I tried to uninstall PDF-complete, but the sign persisted. After purchasing PDF-complete, I am now stuck, as I am getting an error message that downloading has failed, try it later. Adobe is unresponsive, unreachable.

Thanks a lot!!! I found the answer: The "PDF Complete" watermark cannot

be removed from documents that already have it, but once the software is

removed you won't get it. So the removal was successful! (My experience

is that Revo Uninstall is more thorough than the add/remove.) The only

remaining issue is the error message I get at start since I reinstalled

Acrobat 6 Pro that there are known compatibility issues. It offers to

fix it and asks whether I want to run it also in a browser. The fix is

not working, but Acrobat runs normally.

No, no, no! The only good way to uninstall software is the Add/remove programs control panel. You've left something important behind, but it's probably beyond repair. You can try doing a repair of Acrobat. See if it offers Repair from the Help menu. or just start it from the START button when you need it, giving up double clicking.

How did you remove it?

with Revo uninstaller that removes all the depending files and then I

removed manually also the registry files and folder. The popup is,

however still there when I look at my pdf files.

Getting through to Adobe will do no good, since Acrobat 6, like Acrobat 7, 8, 9 and 10, is out of support.

I don't really follow your problem, though. PDF Complete is nothing to do with Adobe or Acrobat.

When using Acrobat (not just 6!) there is an embedded or pop-up sign

saying "your complementary use period has ended ..." and you need to

upgrade PDF-Complete. After several unsuccessful attempts to get rid of

the unwanted PDF-Complete, I purchased it, but cannot install, as "The

installation can not be completed because the installation packages can

not be downloaded at this time ..." and "this time" is forever. Since

Adobe doesn't respond, I see no other solution than dispute their charge

and get rid of Acrobat altogether. Thanks, Michael

It sounds to me as if you have installed some non-Adobe software called "PDF Complete". It is running INSTEAD OF ACROBAT. You have paid SOMEONE ELSE, not Adobe, and it still doesn't work. This is a problem, and perhaps you should question the payment, but you DIDN'T PAY ADOBE. Why not just uninstall this PDF Complete thing and repair Acrobat?
