Acrobat 9.0 won't verify after install

Hi, I am trying to reinstall Acrobat 9 from the Adobe download dmg file. I was able to install the application (drag into Applications folder) but when I try to open the application, it won't verify. The window opens but nothing happens, and eventually there is no response and I have to force quit.

I'm running OX 10.11.6 on a Mac Mini. I did purchase the application and have a serial number, but I don't get that far after installation.

Suggestions?

your os is not compatible with acrobat 9.  these are the specs:

Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro (English, French, German) on Mac OS

  • PowerPC G4, G5, or Intel processors
  • Mac OS X v. 10.4.11 or 10.5
  • 256 MB of RAM (512 MB recommended)
  • 1.42 GB of available hard-disk space
  • 1,024 x 768 screen resolution
  • DVD drive
