Hi hectorc68838561,

Acrobat 9 Pro is not compatible with Mac OS Sierra.

It may or may not work properly.

Would also like to inform you that Acrobat 9 is an old and unsupported version.End of support | Reader 9 and Acrobat 9 (and earlier)

if it works well now, you just had to open the package and then drag it directly into the terminal. my software works again

I think the current situation, where we are constantly invited to upgrade, will be short lived. Microsoft has shown the way: upgrades will just happen. When you're trying to work.

Apple have said that 10.14 will run 32-bit apps with big and annoying warnings.

10.15 will not run 32-bit apps at all, so Acrobat 8,9,10 and 11 will all be dead in the water.

There will be no work around.

Shall we presume they will come with ever more increasingly annoying an difficult to circumvent invitations to upgrade?

The FTP site doesn't ask me for a password. But nor does it seem to be working right now. If an FTP site asks for a password use these

For Photoshop, 5 years subscription = $600. System changes are getting faster and faster, and incompatibility would now be certain in that time without updates.

Yes, frustrating. New Mac OS. You need a new Acrobat.

Hi! I've just done a fresh install of Mac OS Sierra (not just an upgrade, but I formatted the disk and installed) and of my old CS4 boxed version.

After the famous Java update 6, all the applications worked fine, BUT NOT Acroba 9 Pro. It seemed to open, but not worked. I had the same problem occurring with El Capitan, but with no solution, no uncheck could help me.

So, after some struggles, I found my old dusty cds with all the dmg files of the software updates I received in the past of the CS4 products. I never liked Adobe Updater: manual update is painful and boring, but I learned at my risk that it's better that you never let computers or software decide things in place of you .

So I installed the Acrobat 9.10 update and BANG!

Acrobat 9 PRO now works like a charm on Sierra 10.12.2 too.

And it seems even faster than on Mavericks.

I successfully updated all the Acrobat versions from 9.10 to 9.20. Only the last, the 9.5.1 didn't work. But Acrobat is still part of my arsenal and I have an updated OS.

Hope this could help someone.

Cheers

Hi,

I had to buy a new Mac last week due to the fact that my old one died unexpectedly. I'm seriously thrilled that I was able to get my whole CS5 to work, however, I'm really not sure what to do about Adobe Acrobat Pro 9. I read that you were able to do it. Did you do it from a disc or from the download they have on their website. The reason I ask is because I've tried it several times using both ways (disc and digital) and I still can't get it to load. It will put it in my Application folder, but when I double-click it to open it, it tells me to put in my administrators password and then just stays on the opening screen saying that it's installing/fixing installation. I left it that way for about 20 minutes and nothing happened. When I clicked onto something else, the window closed and I was left with the word Acrobat up in the menu with nothing else. No drop-down or any other things in the menu. I checked all over the internet and YouTube and your posting is the only thing that I somewhat found helpful. However, I just can't get anything to load, never mind doing all those updates. I'm totally willing to do all the updates. Can you just tell me how you got it to run in the first place.

Thank you.

Perhaps they updated it before they ran it...

Thanks for your response. Is there an Adobe Acrobat Pro version that is not CC or DC that will run on High Sierra. I don't want to rent any more software.

Thank you,

Robert
