Acrobat Auto Adjust option is not available

I’ve tried every option, including looking in the preferences menu, disabling new acrobat, and looking in the edit menu and there is no way for me to disable auto adjust in acrobat. I’m running version 2026.001.21771 on windows.

Alright, just found out what was wrong and it’s very silly. The text was switching to justify when modified, and I just had to return it to left align. Big thanks to Dave and Randy for helping me out, hope their info can help others with the auto adjust option!

It’s not on by default on my system--that is, when I move a photo, the layout does not change.

Just my guess, but I suspect they took it out and replaced it with “Use design tools”, which switches to Adobe Express for editing. I don’t edit PDFs very often, preferring to edit the original and make a new PDF, so I never really paid attention to either feature.

For others: either option (Auto-Adjust or Express) uploads the PDF to Adobe’s servers so be aware if that is not allowed in your organization.

Aw, that’s a bit unfortunate that Adobe Express would only have that option. The document I’ve been working on is hundreds of pages long and that’s been preventing me from editing it there. I guess if push comes to shove, I’ll just have to find out a work-around, but I was really hoping there’d be someway natively in acrobat to turn off that option.

I should’ve explained this in the main post, but the only thing is that the spacing for spaces change based on line length, which is the main thing I’m trying to disable at the moment.

Presumably, you have no access to the original document? If you go to Document Properties, what program created the PDF?

I just checked the Acrobat help files, and I need to preface this by saying that the feature is not available in all countries and all languages. This may or may not apply to you, but I need to start with this.
