Acrobat changed into an entirely new product overnight

Acrobat developers seem to be in the process of redistributing product features amongst its various flavors of the program. I’m personally telling all my clients and students about how to switch back and forth between the new and old interfaces as a matter of course. For the most part, it has helped them move up the learning curve of using “New Acrobat” without giving up the features and capabilities they’ve traditionally expected of Acrobat Pro.

For what it’s worth, I run with the “Old Acrobat” interface by default. Start my classes that way too. Which has my students asking “How did you get Acrobat to look like that again?” and provides an easy lead-in to showing students where the toggle switches are.

One more thing I’m advising my clients to do: take a careful inventory of what you need Acrobat to do before you upgrade/consider your next steps with Acrobat. Features that users have had for years in Acrobat Pro have been made more difficult to use or removed entirely to entice them to sign on for additional online products.

More than ever before, you want to be absolutely sure that the version of Acrobat you want to get will provide the features you need and want before you buy into upgrading your Acrobat installations.

What other products are people using?  Adobe’s product is now worthless.  This version is impossible to use, and it doesn’t work.  Disabling the new experience just provides an unrecognizable version that is equally bad.  Is this “New Experience” something that AI designed?  Please go back to having competent humans design your products.

Use these steps to disable the New Experience:

Turn off the new experience

If [the new experience doesn’t suit your needs, you can still revert to the previous experience.  

• Windows: Select the hamburger menu, and then choose Disable new Acrobat.  

• View > Disable New Acrobat

I finally figured that out and here it is from another post in the Community.  This is part of the problem, EVERYTHING is soooo buried.  It might be "clean" and "modern" but it is NOT "functional" and "efficient" which is all I care about.  Good luck to all of us if Adobe decides to make this dastardly version the only option.  What a hot mess!

On Windows, to the hamburger menu in the upper left corner (where the old File menu used to be) and select Disable New Acrobat, it's about 2/3 down the menu.

Ditto.  How do I revert back?
