Acrobat - Combining Scanned Files Results in Boxes

Question

I have scanned several documents and then combined them in acrobat. When I do it on the desktop version I get boxes where the text should be. When I do it online it works, however, when I try to save it to my desktop it once again converts to boxes. Is there a way to fix this?  Thank you.

I'm following up to check if your issue is resolved. If not, let us know, and we'd be happy to assist.

The Acrobat desktop app should work similarly to the Acrobat web. However, if you hit Edit once the files are combined, this may happen. Acrobat will try to run OCR, and depending on the quality of the scan and the visibility and clarity of the characters on the file, Acrobat will try to recognize the file.

If you have a sample file that you combined both with Acrobat Web and Acrobat Desktop will try to take a look and share our observations.

Also, ensure Acrobat is updated with the latest update available. To check for any pending updates, launch Acrobat> Help> Check for updates.
