I'm using Adobe Acrobat Version 2026.001.21662 and I'm trying to add form fields to a document. When I add and try to edit the size of a new form field, I get the clock and spinning wheel and the application does not respond.

    Hello @tinapaps14 ,

Thank you for reaching out, and we are sorry to hear you are experiencing this.

Please try the following steps in order before we investigate further:

    • Move the file to your local drive
If the PDF is stored on a network drive, SharePoint, OneDrive, or any external or cloud location, please copy it to your Desktop and try adding and editing form fields from there. Files accessed over a network or cloud connection can cause Acrobat to become unresponsive during form editing.
    • Check for updates
Go to Menu > Help > Check for Updates, install any available update and restart Acrobat before testing again.
    • Disable Protected Mode
Go to Edit > Preferences > Security (Enhanced) and temporarily uncheck Enable Protected Mode at startup. Restart Acrobat and attempt the form field editing again. This is a diagnostic step only.

If the issue continues after trying these steps, please share the following so we can investigate further:

    • A short screen recording showing the behavior when it occurs

    • Whether this is a personally owned machine or a work managed device

    • Your operating system and version

    • Whether this happens with all PDF files or a specific document

Please let us know how it goes and we will be happy to take it from there.
