Acrobat crashing while applying redactions.

So I have adobe acrobat pro installed... when i try to apply redactions a document it quits responding. Program locks up and then eventually you get the close or wait dialog box.

I also have Adobe Acrobat 2020 it will apply redactions to the same document with no problems. This happens on multiple computers. I have uninstalled adobe acrobat pro and reinstalled. I have updated it as well.

I have changed the language setting and turned off protected mode while trying to troubleshoot the issue. Any help would be great.

Hi tanya__4025,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the trouble caused.

Please try the troubleshooting steps suggested in the following help document: https://adobe.ly/44EBqLt

If the issue still occurs, please try the following:

1. Disable Hardware Acceleration: Sometimes, GPU rendering causes freezing

- Go to Edit > Preferences > Page Display.
- Uncheck Use 2D graphics acceleration.

2. Check for Conflicting Background Processes: Other software running in the background may interfere.

- Try performing a clean boot.
- Disabling antivirus or third-party PDF tools temporarily.

3. Try reinstalling the application using the steps suggested below:

-Remove the application and run the cleaner tool (https://adobe.ly/4nFINLk).
-Reboot the machine
-Install Adobe Acrobat from the following page: https://adobe.ly/46Ebkuu.

If the issue still occurs, we might require logs for further investigation. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
