Acrobat DC 19.021.20048 changes Windows window shadowing settings

It seems that after the 19.021.20048 update, whenever I open a PDF file with Acrobat DC, my Windows 10 graphics settings change in a way that the window shadow setting is turned off.

If I go to Advanced System Settings / System Properties > Advanced > Performance Settings > Visual Effects, I can toggle back the "Show shadows under windows" setting.

It's getting a bit annoying to do this every time I open a PDF document. If there's a fix, please let me know.

Thanks for your reply.

    HI Pekkap,

Thanks for reaching to us. Can you please do the following and see if this issue is still repro at your end..

    • Try After Re-Starting your machine
    • If issue is still there can you try to Re-install Acrobat and check again

This issue has nothing to do with Acrobat and is probably an OS level bug. Also as per the below link its recommended that you upgrade your windows version.

Please feel free to reach me out in case of any issues/concerns.

It has to do with Acrobat and I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Adobe to fix it or even to be aware of it.

Fortunately, another user did all the work identifying steps to reproduce and workaround, and it doesn't involve reinstalling Acrobat or the whole OS:
