Acrobat DC (2015) gives “bad parameter” when commenting a text callout

This happens across all files, on a Win 10 laptop. Already tried to follow the instructions found in another post here, restarting, and repairing the installation. Re-install should hopefully not be needed on top of that.

 

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Same issue here.  Even tried adobe chat support who took over my machine and did a complete remove and reinstall for it to run for one day and it dose it again.  shame as it is the feature i use the most and it renders adobe useless for me.  Win 10 lap top and yes across all files.

Wow,  I dont understand 1/3 of what those links are saying.  Its so frustrating how the IT generation manage to talk us into accepting to purchase product that does not work as advertise and we cannot geta refund.  Not sure where the consumer protection act fail but if you sell a car and the water pump leaks you take to the dealer to get it fix. You are not expected to buy tools, go to mechanic school, lear how to the car works, and then fix it yourself.

    If it doesn't help consider manually fixing the tagging structure of your document: https://technicalauthorsolutions.com/bad-parameter-error/

     

    With your document opened, You can try by opening the thumbnail page view pane--->>>select all thumbnailed views--->> right-click to bring the Document Properties---->> tick Use document structure---> click OK.  You can do this too using the Organize Pages tool.

    Thanks for trying to help.

     

    I already tried those solutions. Also, as I stated, this is happening across all documents on the computer, from brand new files to ones that used to not have this issue. So changing the tags manually is not a realistic solution.

    You're right, I missed that detail in my reply.

     

    Have you considered creating a new user profile in your windows 10 and see if this could be related to the curren settings>

     

    Another approach would be to check with another windows 10 computer running the same Adobe acrobat version and compare the Preference settings between the two.

     

    I also forgot to ask if you check here :https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/release-note/release-notes-acrobat-reader.html for the latest patches that were published in October 2019 and see if they need to be manuallt re-aplied.

     

    Last, I can also think of running the Windows 10 Program Compatibility Troubleshooter to let the wizard detect , download and install any .Net dependencies that may be missing or corrupt and test if the same behavior occurs if you set Acrobat to run for an older version of Windows.

     (these are just ideas, there's really no logical approach here but it is worth trying to continue to rule out what could be wrong).
