Acrobat DC briefly, consistently not responding

Acrobat will be "not responding" when I open the app and click any of the tabs such as edit, view, window, etc.  It eventually stops. When open ANY pdf, again, "not responding".  Stops after about 5-10 seconds and when I attempt to scroll, the same problem occurs.

I have version 2022.001.20085.

I have tried the repair installation.

I have removed protected mode.

I have run distiller and the product is activated.

I set preferences to show a dialog box for a crash report, but a report doesn't appear.

I recreated Adobe Application preferences.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Acrobat DC.

I have creative cloud installed.

I had the problem on Windows 10 and the same problem on Windows 11.

I am only using one computer for personal use.

Any help?

hope you're doing well and am sorry to hear that.

 

As described Adobe Acrobat DC is not responding and freezing constantly, and you have tried most of the troubleshooting steps with no success, please try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in windows and try using the application there and check for the issue.

 

Also please go through the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-system-errors-freezes-windows.html and see if that works.

 

If it still doesn't work please remove the application using the Acrobat cleaner tool https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html  reboot the computer once and reinstall the application using the link https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html

Amal,

When I add another user to windows 11, everything is fine.

I am logged in as the administrator on the account.

How do I "fix" my current account so it works properly.

Hi there

 

Thanks for trying out the suggestion. As the application is working fine in the new user profile, it seems to be some issue with your regular user profile, please try to repair the user profile and see if that works.
