Acrobat DC doesnt recoginze text

I have many .pdf files scanned with scan snap ix500 scanner.  When opening the files I am able to search on any word in the document to determine if it was converted via OCR.  When I select the "Edit document" tool in Adobe DC I get the message "no editable text in this document".  What am I missing?

Hi johnlom

Did you create this .pdf file using Adobe Acrobat "Create PDF" feature or directly through the Scanner itself? Ideally OCR is enabled by default, just to make sure you may check whether it is enabled or not?

Open PDF in Acrobat>Run Edit Tool>Recognize Text checked

Thanks,

++ as Bernd asked, this is really important to check whether you have got Acrobat Std or Pro DC. Your Adobe account shows you have got both.

Note: "Edit PDF" feature uses "Editable Text & Images" type of OCR which is not available in Acrobat Standard.

Thanks,

Akanchha
