Acrobat DC Pro - sluggish / not responding

Question

For a while now Acrobat DC Pro is sluggish / stops / not responding / need to close (“not responding”)

I repaired … updated … turned off Protection Mode in preferences … sometimes can’t even scroll … ????

Can’t find any other hints online.

Nothing helps

Any suggestions, please!!
